I pick up my camera in search of the remarkable in simple moments. I have always had an equal interest in history and current events. I consider the attempt to better understand the human condition a worthy ambition. For a time, I contemplated a career as a historian. 2020 showed me more than ever that history is taking place all around us. I decided it was time to get serious about documenting the world as I see it. As fate would have it, I found my photography to be more effective than my writing. Through that process I discovered my passion for Photojournalism, Documentary and Street Photography. In a world overwhelmed with hype and sensationalism, we are bombarded with media. Much of it click bait and mind-numbing trends. I endeavor to make images that are authentic. I capture moments that the average person would appreciate, if they slowed down enough to notice them. I reside In Appleton WI, along with my wife and 3 children. Most of my work centers in the Fox River Valley, although I travel when and wherever I can.
