Good evening everyone, before I get into everything that I’ve learned, I just want to say thank you and how happy I am that I took this course. Social Media isn’t something that I thought I would ever study, much less need to. What does one really need to know about social media right? You go on the internet, look up what you want to know or just curse Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for fun right. Well see how much I know, better yet, see how much I’ve learned.
By definition, “Social Media Marketing is a process – a way of thinking, really – that involves identifying opportunities for leveraging social interactivity among consumers in open and flexible social media environments with fast-paced flows of information.” I know how important social media is for many different reasons. I just had no idea how important, and all of the things that Social Media can do for someone, and/or a business. I have learned so many things in a short period of time. Some of it I will use for my personal business, some of it I many use in future jobs, and some I’m just happy I learned about, but may never use it. Social media standards are always changing in this fast pace environment, in the way one uses it, to what can be posted, to what is socially acceptable to post about on a day to day basis.
“Whether one views social media’s ascendance positively or negatively, it is clearly having an impact on the way humans think, interact, and understand themselves.”

The things I have taken away from this class that I’d personally use for my business is, grown my brand/myself on Social Media, and the fact that I need to be consistent with what I’m doing if I’m going to do it. I need to pay attention to the marketing perspective. Yes, what the company (me) has to offer is very important, but I also have to keep in mind that I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the customers. Every business needs to remember that when they are putting together their brand as a business.
One of the blogs that really suck out to me was Chapter 9 – How To Grow Your Brand With Influencers. https://edify.stukent.com/ Making it on Social Media is all about who you know and how far your words can reach. Personally when I’m going to buy something off of a link I found on social media, I look at comments other people have put about the product in question. I want to know their opinion because I don’t want to waste my money on a product that isn’t going to work. I have attached a chart showing the stats on who people trust on social media. Retail Sites are the highest in influencing someone purchase. Like I said, no one wants to buy a product that has bad reviews.

With that being said, as a business owner or marketer of a business it is important to always remember the customer is the most important piece to your business because without them, you have no business. I think it is easy to forget the most simple of things when looking at why/how social media works or how it can help you.
Again I just want to extend my appreciation for the opportunity to be apart of this Social Media Marketing class. I have learned so much and can’t wait to implementing them into my business in hopes I do it right. I would love for my business to flourish based off of things that I learned and was able to build from. Thank you
